Cha-no-yu is just to boil water, make tea and only drink it...this you should know!

These are the words of the famous tea master Rikyu (1522-1591). Cha-no-yu has been thought of as a cultural activity unique to Japan, but in recent years there have been many people practicing at Urasenke branches and study groups around the world.

If you feel that you understand English to a degree, but cannot fully explain Japanese culture to your non-Japanese friends; or that you are practicing Cha-no-yu but feel something is missing; or you think Cha-no-yu looks difficult, but would like to give it a try, rest assured the world of Cha-no-yu can be very enjoyable and interesting.
